It was a pleasure and a privilege to have seven year old Betty Stone open the fete. She won the competition to suggest ways in which we could spend some of the fete proceeds on activities for children to celebrate this International Year of the Child. She carried out her duties with aplomb, such as cutting the red ribbon to open the fete and presenting the raffle prizes, and added hugely to the sense of fun of the day. We hope you see some of her ideas coming to fruition as the year goes on.
